Skid Avoidance and Control
This very “hands-on” training helps drivers to understand how the stability of a vehicle is affected when a skid occurs and what actions they must take to regain control. The session also covers new safety technology such as ABS, TCS and ESP and what effects they have when turned “on” and “off”. Minimum of 3 delegates.

4 x 4 Awareness and Training
This one-day training course is a combination of both on-road and off-road driving to ensure the delegate understands the techniques required and how the vehicle reacts for every situation including:

  • wading depths
  • entry angles
  • breakover angle
  • exit angle
  • drive through sideslopes
  • ascents and descents
  • crossing ruts and ditches
  • correct selection of transfer box and differential lock

Minimum of 3 delegates.

4 x 4 Professional Off-Road Course
This two-day LANTRA Approved course helps to develop the skills of even the most experienced 4x4 driver and provides practical, hands-on guidance to remain safe even in the most exacting situation.
Course includes:

  • recognising a safe working environment
  • assessing ground conditions
  • preparing and performing the necessary maintenance
  • checks to ensure the safety of the vehicle
  • route planning
  • the safe operation of a vehicle in a variety of off-road conditions
  • an understanding of the dangers involved in vehicle recovery
  • how to get out of difficult situations, read the track for danger points, and cope with a range of problematic terrain including
    mud, water, loose surfaces, steep hillsides and very rough roads.

Minimum of 3 delegates.

Five day 4x4 Instructor Training Course
For delegates that have attended the two day Professional off-road course, this additional course enables potential instructors to not only develop the knowledge, skill and techniques to drive the vehicle in a range of conditions but to have the confidence and credibility to instruct within the working environment. Minimum of 3 delegates.

Banksman Training
To ensure your organisation meets its legal requirements and provides a safe working environment TTC has written a Banksman course using existing HSE approved hand signals. This one day course equips the delegates with the practical skills to ensure safe passage to both vehicles and pedestrians. Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of competence. Minimum of 3 delegates.

Banksman Instructor Training
This four day course offers cost effective training, which enables you to equip a select number of delegates with the skills required to train other employees to become qualified as a Banksman.
Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate of competence.
Minimum of 3 delegates.

Towing
This half day course is aimed at drivers that already possess the appropriate category on their driving licence but have never received any formal training or guidance. Delegates cover all aspects of trailer towing, including relevant towing law, hitching and unhitching, loading, stability, reversing and safe handling.
