Drink Drive Rehabilitation Course

TTC is the UK’s largest provider of Drink Drive Courses. TTC is appointed by the Department for Transport, and the Department of Environment (Northern Ireland) to deliver Drink Drive Courses, as part of the Government’s Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS). TTC has been providing Drink Drive Courses for 22 years and has delivered over 100,000 courses to drink drive offenders throughout the UK.

TTC delivers Drink Drive Awareness Courses at 155 venues including; Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, West Midlands, Cumbria, Shropshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Hereford and Worcester, Northern Ireland, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Nottingham, Yorkshire, North East and Wales.

In 2012 around 45,000 drink drive offenders were referred to Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) courses by the Courts, with nearly 24,000 offenders accepting the offer and successfully completing a Drink Drive Course, making the attendee eligible to have the period of time they are banned from driving reduced by up to a quarter, for example taking a 12 month driving ban down to 9 months.

Under the Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS), Courts can offer people a Drink Drive Course if they have been convicted of driving or being in charge of a motor vehicle with excess alcohol in their blood. You may also be offered a course if you fail to provide a specimen that can be tested to assess your level of intoxication.

The Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme is designed to change behaviours to prevent the attendee reoffending, and to become a safer driver. Specifically, the Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme aims to help offenders recognise the problems associated with drink driving and to take personal responsibility for, and to address their behaviour in relation to drinking and driving.

To complete the course takes around 16 hours, and is usually completed over 3 sessions.

If you are charged with drink driving, before attending Court we recommend that you consider whether you want to attend a Drink Driving Course, and if so, research your preferred course provider choosing both a conveniently located and a competitively priced Drink Driving Course. If you have elected in Court to attend a Drink Drive Rehabilitation Course and have the associated paperwork please click here to book.
