Trainers from across the UK brought second hand items in aid of the Severn Hospice charity shop when they came to their Shropshire head office for the company’s annual training day organised by the TTC Group.
Bags of items from up to 50 trainers were stockpiled and sent onto the hospice shop to be sold for the hospice appeal.
TTC Group directors Graham and Jenny Wynn, who have adopted the slogan: “We are, why aren’t you?” are urging other Shropshire companies to do the same.
“If every company in Shropshire adopted the hospice as their charity we could all contribute to the urgently needed running costs. It would be corporate social responsibility on a countywide scale which would really boost the hospice appeal,” said Mr Wynn, whose company runs fleet management training courses and corporate driver education programmes.
Telford hospice cost £5 million to build and fund raisers need to collect £1.5 million each year for running costs.
