FRENCH TV FEATURE TTC GROUP ON UK ROAD SAFETY

A news programme about road safety in France and England featuring the TTC Group has been broadcast on prime time French TV.

How we tackle drink drivers in the UK was one of the items under discussion during the news and talk show with film featuring the TTC Group, of Hadley Park, Telford – the UK’s largest provider of drink drive rehabilitation courses.

TV journalist Camille Le Pomellec interviewed one course participant – a 70-year-old motorist convicted of drink driving – as he left his home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, for a course which covers 16 plus hours of education on alcohol over three days.

TTC trainer Allan Wilson was interviewed on how drink driving is dealt with in the UK with offenders being offered a rehabilitation course and the chance to get up to a quarter off their driving ban.

French news journalist Beatrice Chonberg hosted the 90 minute programme on the France 2 TV station which also featured motorcyclists in Paris and other key road safety issues.

“We were comparing road safety in France and the UK. The TV station France 2 is equivalent to the BBC and it was a very high profile programme with news, TV reports and a discussion afterwards,” said Camille.

The TTC Group educate more than 10,000 drink drivers each year and are the largest provider of rehabilitation courses. They also run speed awareness courses and the National Driver Improvement Scheme on behalf of police and councils.
