ROAD SAFETY AWARDS FOR TTC GROUP

alan-with-certificates-web.jpgShropshire driver training specialists, the TTC Group, have won a national accolade for their road safety work while raising funds for the Severn Hospice.
The organisation with the motto, Safer Roads by Educating Drivers, was highly commended in both the Road Safety in the Community section and the Fleet Service Provider of the Year awards run by road safety charity Brake.
The prestigious awards recognise achievements of organisations helping to reduce the one in four road deaths involving an at-work driver.
National Training Manager Malcolm Jones said: “We work closely with companies to minimise the risk of employees being involved in an incident on our roads. It helps to reduce road crash statistics and at the same time makes businesses more profitable with fewer crashes, fuel savings and lower insurance costs for fleet managers.
“We are very proud to have won two awards from such a prestigious organisation. It helps raise awareness among companies that educating drivers truly does make roads safer.”
Road Safety Manager Colin Pettener collected the honours on behalf of the TTC Group, of Hadley Park, Telford, at the Fleet Safety Forum Awards ceremony held in Warwickshire.
The awards come after the TTC Group has just completed a number of seminars educating Shropshire fleet operators with the help of J.T.Hughes, Honda and Mitsubishi dealers in the county, with all proceeds donated to the Severn Hospice.
The “vital” seminars, attended by hundreds of company drivers, educated fleet managers and increased awareness of legal responsibilities in managing occupational road risk. The course included information on alcohol, drugs, mobile phones, speed, stress, and crime prevention.

“They were vital courses for fleet operators put on for a minimal fee which was donated to the Severn Hospice,” added Mr Jones.

The TTC Group is a national training provider working with both private and public sector organisations to reduce road risk by educating drivers and delivering defensive driver training programmes. TTC also works with police and local authorities to deliver the National Driver Improvement Scheme and speed awareness programmes.
