There are no hard and fast rules as to how Risk Assessments should be carried out as every organisation is different and may require a slightly different approach. However Risk Assessments are a fundamental requirement for all businesses. If you do not know, or appreciate where the risks are, you are putting yourself, your employees, your customers and your organisation in danger.
Most organisations look for a variety of solutions to meet the various risk levels identified once the Risk Assessment has been carried out. This often involves On-Road solutions for High Risk Delegates, either Workshops or E-Learning for Medium Risk Delegates and arranging a suitable period for re-assessment for Low Risk Delegates.

Driver Profiling
On-line Assessments are now common practice in the workplace and offer a cost effective solution to assessing a driver’s exposure to road risk. No matter where your staff are based, delegates simply log on with a unique username and password and by a series of assessments the programme is able to detect an individual’s likelihood of being at risk, or causing danger, when driving. The entire process takes around 20 minutes per person.
As well as the individual employee receiving feedback, the fleet manager also has secure access to the management information system 24/7 which is collated centrally to provide the fleet manager with the evidence that all risk assessments have been completed.

On-Road Assessment
Lasting approximately 45 minutes, this traditional approach to risk assessing drivers, enables the trainer to measure the delegate’s risk in their normal working environment and vehicle during a one-to-one assessment.
Three assessments are normally conducted within any half-day period.

Assessor Training
This three day course first brings the delegates own driving up to a high standard using the principles of advanced driving techniques. The training then moves on to learning how to fault find, analysing the root cause of the problem and providing positive feedback. The course can accommodate up to 3 delegates.
