Alcohol and Drug Training

TTC 2000 is the largest UK provider of alcohol awareness courses. We guarantee that course participants will increase their knowledge by attending our training courses.

These are sample contents but would be modified to suit company requirements. For example if your company had a particular focus on driving we would adapt the contents to include more emphasis on driver impairment and the legal implications of being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Alcohol and Drug Education and Awareness in the workplace

This course looks at our attitudes towards alcohol and drugs and their place within our society. It particularly looks at prescribed and ‘over the counter’ medicines and the effect they can have on performance whilst at work.
It provides factual information about alcohol and promotes an understanding of how much alcohol you consume and for how long it will impair you. It also looks at:

Health

We look at health implications of alcohol and drug use – and misuse.
This is explored through practical exercises, group discussion and the use of videos.
It helps with developing strategies for safer drinking.

Driver Impairment

The section examines impairment in a wide sense, and includes fatigue. It explores the attitudes of road users and introduces personal strategies for safer driving.

Alcohol and Drug education and awareness for employees:

Full day. Maximum number of employees: 25

Discounts available for multiple bookings

For large number of employees we are able to provide sequential training or multiple courses simultaneously. We are flexible and can offer half day or day courses to suit the needs of your organisation.

We also offer presentations to managers or large numbers of staff. This is not a full 'learning experience' but it is a useful way of raising awareness, perhaps as an introduction to promoting well being during the consultation stage of a drug and alcohol policy.

We can offer 'training for trainers'.
Trainers for trainers will include a 2-day training course, regular ongoing support and updates and a set of equipment to include: a manual, a set of mock drinks, OHT's, a set of videos (can be on DVD) Tanita breathalyser and 'Drunkbuster Goggles.'
Maximum number of trainers per course: 12

The benefits of training trainers within your organisation are:
  • More efficiency as you have trainers on site
  • You maintain totally compliant with legislation and your drug and alcohol policy
  • It can be part of an induction process for everyone rather than wait for annual training events
  • It is the cheapest way to manage training
  • It is the most effective way to manage training as your programme can be ongoing
  • TTC can offer technical support and professional back up annually to keep you informed of up to date information, new research and relevant statistics
  • TTC can offer ongoing support for trainers

I can honestly say I have never had such a reaction to a training programme as I received after yours. People were truly shocked by how little they knew about the subject and how often through ignorance they had been over the drink drive limit in the past.
My objective of running the course was to make my drivers aware of the morning after effect and driver fatigue. I feared through ignorance, one of my drivers would one day be stopped at an accident or road check, be breath tested and fail. This would cost the driver his job and the company would incur a major cost in finding, training and employing a replacement. In addition the "risks" of bad publicity if a Culligan driver was involved in a serious accident. You could see the headlines: "Culligan driver kills ****"…You met this objective and added a great deal more.
