A motorist who attended a speed awareness course after being caught speeding says she has now “re-gained her confidence” and will be further improving her driving by completing an advanced drivers’ course.
Singing teacher Tessa Coates-Bishop (68), of Kingstone, near Hereford, said her driving had improved and she “learned so much” on the speed awareness course at Brecon run by the UK’s leading course provider, TTC 2000, part of the TTC Group.
She now noticed road signs, stuck to speed limits and was much more aware of road hazards.
“I am now booking to go on The Institute of Advanced Motorists Course which I started to do 14 years ago in Abergavenny after passing my driving test. I didn't complete the advanced course as I was very nervous of going to drive in Cardiff. But I feel a lot more confident now,” said Mrs Coates-Bishop, who praised the TTC instructor Stuart Lewellyn.
She criticised drivers who tailgate other motorists urging them to drive faster and break speed limits.
“I love driving. I just wish I didn’t have people behind me urging me to go faster. Everywhere you drive there is someone breaking the speed limit. But now I have been on this course I have much more confidence on the road,” she added.
The TTC Group are driver training specialists and educate thousands of the nation’s motorists each year. The four hour speed awareness courses, backed by the Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership, run at 14 locations across Mid and South Wales with drivers able to choose a venue and a Welsh language session. Courses are also run throughout Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire as well as Cumbria and South Yorkshire.
